For many years now Levico Acque has been engaged in a demanding roadmap of sustainability, measuring its environmental footprint and dedicating significant investments to reduce CO2 emissions along the whole production and distribution: from energy efficiency, to the use of renewable energy, up to the sustainable materials used for packaging and to the design of the bottle to maximize its lifespan and reuse. Thanks to these efforts Levico achieved in 2014, first company in the sector, the goal of reducing to zero the impact of its emission,, as guaranteed by the B-Neutral certification.

From zero impact to positive impact.
Since 2019, Levico carried out a LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) to measure in an extremely in-depth and comprehensive way the total annual CO2 emission of the entire life cycle of its products, from glass supply up to the final delivery of the bottle. Thanks to this study, Levico could identify criticalities and possibilities for improvement that will be targeted in the next years thanks to the 2020 Project. As a result, Levico obtained the prestigious Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), that few companies in the world can boast.
However, being carbon neutral was not enough: indeed, from 2019, Levico decided to become CLIMATE POSITIVE, that means not just reducing at net zero its own emissions, but going further, taking more carbon out of the atmosphere than it puts in: up to 110% of its emissions.
In doing so, Levico proves concretely to be a positive impact company, namely a company that leaves the environment better than it finds it.

CLIMATE POSITIVE IN ACTUAL FACT
Saving forests to save the planet
To achieve this major goal, Levico joined the WowNature project in 2019, starting a multi-year programme for the reforestation and maintenance of thousands of trees (over 24,000 trees per year, meaning 65 trees per day) from the Alps to the sea.
The projects supported so far are located in Venice, the Alps and the Dolomites (Brennero, Meltina, Val di Fiemme, Bosco Pizzotto and Arte Sella), Padua,Parco Fiume Brenta,Tuscany and Sicily. Discover all Levico Acque’s forestry projects on: https://www.wownature.eu/levico-acque/
Taking care of trees means taking care of our planet. Protecting our forest heritage is the most relevant and effective action we can take against global warming.
All forestry projects supported by Levico Acque are FSC® certified. If they are not, Levico Acque will help them achieve the certification.
Moreover, this extraordinary project exceeds positively any emission reduction index or sustainability index as we considered them up to now, shedding light on a new path for the commitment in safeguarding our planet.
